PROJECT FLOWARE

Project FLOWARE aims to address a significant issue in rural areas, specifically the lack of awareness and access to menstrual cups among village women. Menstrual hygiene is a critical concern, and menstrual cups offer a sustainable eco-friendly and cost-effective solution. Most of the women in rural villages are unaware about the benefits of using menstrual cups and they also seem to have a lot of misconceptions and fear regarding the use of menstrual cup. It is rooted from lack of proper awareness about menstrual hygiene products. Many women still consider it as a taboo to speak about it in public. So they tend not to ask questions and clear their doubts openly.

The proposed project intends to conduct awareness campaigns in 10 Kudumbasree Units in Kurumbilavu, Thanniyam & Kizhuppillikkara Grama Panchayats, reaching a minimum of 100 women, by collaborating with young volunteers in Thrissur. We aim to educate village ladies about the benefits of menstrual cups, including their environmental impact and long-term cost savings. Through this initiative, we hope to empower women with a sustainable menstrual hygiene option, promote environmental sustainability, and improve the overall well-being of women in village areas.

SINK-STRENGTHENING INDIAN KINSHIP

Strengthening Indian Kinship (SINK) is a project under Arise, highlighting the need for an inclusive society. It is based on the theme "Strengthening Relationship Values in Society ", which mainly focused on youth across Kerala between the age group 16-30. As relationships connect and hold individuals together and forms the base of society, the decreasing trend in this aspect is one of the burning issues the world is facing today.

Therefore, an initiative was put forward by Arise to present the term from a varied perspective as well as to make people understand how crucial it is in one's life. As such, a world where everyone could live with their own individuality is the key aspect of this project with youth being the key beneficiary. The first edition of the project was done in collaboration with the Institute of Social Volunteering (ISV). The yearly edition of the program is scheduled between the months of August and September.

BRAND AUDITING

Our volunteers diligently collected plastic waste from the Thrissur Corporation ground. This waste was then meticulously sorted and separated based on the brand names associated with each item. By organizing the waste according to brand, the project sought to highlight the specific brands responsible for the accumulation of plastic waste in the area. The intention was not to shame or blame the brand but to raise awareness and initiate a dialogue around sustainable practices and the need for responsible waste management.

Mauris eu pulvinar tellus, eu luctus nisl. Pellentesque suscipit mi eu varius pulvinar. Aenean vulputate, massa eget elementum finibus, ipsum arcu commodo est, ut mattis eros orci ac risus. Suspendisse ornare, massa in feugiat facilisis, eros nisl auctor lacus, laoreet tempus elit dolor eu lorem. Nunc a arcu suscipit, suscipit quam quis, semper augue.

Through the "Brand Auditing" project, Arise aimed to generate awareness and encourage conversations about the role of different brands in plastic waste generation. By highlighting the brands associated with the collected plastic waste, we hope to inspire both consumers and companies to adopt more sustainable practices and take responsibility for their environmental impact. This project serves as a reminder that collective action and conscious choices are vital in addressing the plastic waste crisis and creating a greener, more sustainable future. We are proud to have undertaken this project and look forward to continued efforts to positively impact our environment.
